Did you know that there are some people who did not go to college and are successful? Well there are many well known people who are successful like Ellen Degeneres. According to Forbes, she makes millions as a producer for projects like “Little Big Shots,” and in 2018, she became the first woman to earn $20 million for a Netflix stand-up special. She once said on her show that  she really wanted to go to college “I tried and then I missed the bus every single day but here I am a strong powerful woman with great skin and it’s all that matters.:” And then she gave advice to the people who are about to graduate.

The first piece of advice she has is to learn how to spell. “Y-O-U-R is possessive as in your shirt is dirty.Y-O-U-‘R-E is you are as in you are taking too many selfies once you know how to spell then learn how to express yourself using words, emojis are but when your boss says he needs a report by noon a thumbs down and screaming face emoji is not an appropriate response.” 

Another person who did not go to college is Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple who died on October 5 2011 at age 56.  According to Wikipedia, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak co-founded Apple in 1976 to sell Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer. Together, the duo gained fame and wealth a year later with the Apple II, one of the first highly successful mass-produced microcomputers and at the time of his death, Steve Jobs’ net worth was $10.2 billion.

He said in an interview, “I did go to college but I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford and all of my working class parents’ savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months I couldn’t see the value in it I had on idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out and here I was spending all the money my parents has saved their entire life so I decided to drop out of college and trust that it would all work out.” He thought  it was one of the best decisions he ever made because the minute  he dropped out he could stop taking the required classes that didn’t interest him.

Richard Charles Nicholas Branson is a British billionaire  who was in BornJuly 18, 1950 entrepreneur and business magnate. In the 1970s he founded the Virgin Group, which today controls more than 400 companies in various fields. Branson expressed his desire to become an entrepreneur at a young age. His Net worth is 5.1 billion USD. He also did not go to college and he is one of the most successful people in the world. 

Aziz Sall, a manager in a hotel, said “College is not for everyone  especially if you came here  as an immigrant you got a family beneath you and you have to take care of them honestly I did not regret not going to college because  The thing I value the most in New York City is that when you go to an interview they don’t ask where did you get your college degree they ask you what can you do that thing you can do is going to make you successful.”

After seeing all of this example we all can see that you do not have to go to college to be successful it’s all about you and about what you want to do in life and how do you want to become successful what makes you happy you do not have to spend your parents money just to go to college so you can be you can become successful in life.
