Most people don’t understand the power of friendship, friendship is more  powerful than a family. When I was in Senegal my mom used to tell me that she wanted to be my friend, not my mother. When I was coming to New York she told me that true friends at a distance are never apart because they always have a place in our heart. This photoessay shows that friendship can develop everywhere including home, school, and all of the happy places a person can be with loved ones
