Video games have become a part of every student’s life all over the world, however it causes many problems especially in school, home, and personal life. Nowadays in schools, students are faced with these problems, such as being awake on time and focusing on classwork. Sometimes this causes students to be angry at teachers and come late to class.
One student from Liberty High School named David Balet, shared his opinion about how games affected his school: “Last school year, I played games a lot. My mind was full of games, and I couldn’t raise my grades or focus on studying.” This means that by playing games a lot, you might become addicted to it, which will be so difficult to come back from. However, he says, “Right now I don’t play games at all, and I enjoy watching movies. I manage my time for homework in the afternoon.” This highlights how he focuses on important matters rather than games.
Though many people think that late-night gaming causes only your grades to go down, this author’s grandmother says, “He wakes up very sleepy, has high blood pressure, his eyes don’t open, sometimes he doesn’t wake up even when 3 alarms ring, thus being late.” As you see, night gaming is the worst for your health and mind-focusing. When other students spend time on homework and have a solid sleep schedule, they will not feel exhausted at school. On the other hand, “After coming home from school, he would rather not do homework; if he happened to get up, it was early in the morning after playing games till midnight, thus getting tired each day.”
Most students are faced with night gaming, which is not good for them. For some reason, they would like to stay up late at night, because they are used to not sleeping, the same as they practiced in the summer. A student from another country shared his opinion by answering the question: Do you often find it hard to focus in class after gaming the night before? As he says, “Yes, of course, I have been trying to change my sleep schedule several times, but I still fall asleep very late.” This shows that the student tried to create a sleep schedule, however it did not work as he was playing and did not pay attention to homework and other things he was supposed to finish.
