High school is a lot easier when you aren’t doing it alone. Friendship is an important part of student life at Liberty High School. To learn more about this topic, two students, Madina Balde and Tabara Thiam, and a school counselor, Ms. Edyta, were interviewed. They were asked questions about why friendship is important in high school and how students should choose their friends.
Madina Balde, a junior at LHS shared his thoughts about friendship and how it affects students. When asked about friendship in high school, he explained that having friends makes the school day better because “you have someone to talk to, laugh with, and spend time with during the day.” His response shows that friendships help students feel more comfortable and connected at school.
Tabara Thiam, a senior at LHS also talked about how friendships can help students succeed academically. She explained that friends support each other and work together in school. According to Tabara, “Friends can study together, help each other understand classwork, and motivate each other to do better.” Her answer shows that friendships can help students improve their learning and stay motivated.
School counselor Ms. Edyta answered both interview questions and gave advice to students. When asked why friendship is important in high school, she said that “It’s good to have somebody you can lean on, hang out with, go to class with, and even study with.” She also explained that students should choose their friends carefully. Ms. Edyta advised that “It’s important to find someone who has similar interests and shares the same values and qualities as you.”
Overall, the interviews show that friendships are a very important part of the high school experience. Supportive friends can help students feel happier, more confident, and more successful during their time in school, so choose your friends wisely.
