Weddings in my culture carry so many traditions, it can take three or four days or sometimes even a week. On the first day only women and the bride’s friends will come to her house to cover her face, sing and do her henna. Her face has to be covered until the day where they will bring the bride to a beauty salon and prepare her for the wedding. The groom also has to be prepared, both wearing white bazin. After the mosque, all women will go back home with the bride, change her and give her advice before bringing her to her husband’s house. Finally both, the bride and the groom’s family will decide when they are going to do the final party, to which everybody will go to a hall dressed in different kinds of African dress, including the bride and the groom will wear different kinds of African clothes during the party.
